Hi all! I found a great website where celebrities read aloud popular books! My plan is to select one book a day and post it here and on Class Dojo. I will also have activities that you can do at  home.

Activity of the Day:Explain to students that they will createproduct by re-purposing trash that would ordinarily be thrown away just like Red Nose Studio did to illustrate the story. After they create their product, they will write an advertisement for their product.

Activity of the Day: Write about your adventure of your kissed that missed.

K-1- Write 1 to to sentences about your adventure.

3rd-4th- Write 3 -5 sentences about your adventure.

Activity of the Day- Writing Prompt: Do you think Guji Guji did the right thing by tricking the crocodiles?

K-1st- Draw a picture and write one to two sentences about the prompt.

3rd-4th- Write 3-5 sentences about the prompt. Remember COPS(Capitals, Organized, Punctuation, Spacing)!

Activity of the day-
Discuss feeling with students: How do we feel when we use our hands to help people? How
does it feel when we use our hands to hurt someone? How does it feel when someone uses
their hands to hurt you?

Students can then draw or write something kind or helpful they will use their hands for

I Need My Monster

Questions of the Day-
1. Have you ever been scared to go to bed at night because youthought there was a monster in your room?
2. Do monsters always have to be scary?
3. What makes you feel safe when you go to bed?


Activity of the Day:
Remind student that at the end of the story, Rita Moreno asks“Which was your favorite monster?”
Have students work with a partner or in groups to discuss the question.
Have students respond to the prompt depending on the need sand level of your class.
Orally: Allow each student to draw their favorite monster and present it to the class with an
explanation of why he/she chose that monster.
Written: After students draw the monster, have them use sentence starters to write response:
My favorite monster is_______________.

I like this monster because__________
~kinder and first graders- write one to two sentences
~ third and fourth graders- write 4-5 sentences
